The high contrast between Didot’s hairlines and thick strokes disintegrated into a faxed photocopy. Firmin Didot designed this typeface in 1784 as an expression of Enlightenment reason: mathematically precise, stripped of rococo ornament, the first modern typeface in history. In this miniaturization, it became an Eastern European cultural code. The choice of Didot was never aesthetic. It was a statement of character.

Her radical rejection of the rules unsettled me completely.

In these latitudes, we live in visual scarcity. We lack the historical presence of neoclassicism. What we have instead is the fax roll, the bad photocopy, the first low-resolution digital cameras. This aesthetic produces a kind of satisfaction that must be entirely foreign to the West. In her essay on poor images, Hito Steyerl argues that an imperfect copy paradoxically increases the intimacy of an object. Zuzana’s visual instinct carries exactly that — and so does what she makes.

Her visual language is not minimalism. It is yohaku no bi 余白の美 — the Japanese concept for the beauty of what is left unsaid. Emptiness as potential. She doesn’t create visual disruption by what she adds, but by what she omits.

She began with centering. Then, one day, she started to decompose. It recalls the trajectory of the greatest contemporary masters: those who, having fully commanded the craft, want to return to the moment before it. To find the unlearned within their own handwriting. Zuzana achieved this in fast-forward. Her primary visual language is the photograph. A photograph in which we must supply everything ourselves.

She had the courage to rebrand her identity and compress it to a minimum. She redefines visibility through the lens she uses to see the world. A magnifying glass. And she holds our full attention.

Zuzana is the first and the last person who ever told me to make a logo smaller. At every single output. And today she inhabits layouts she can claim entirely as her own without changing a single typeface. She controls the white space.

Here, the brand is not in the name. It is in the quality of the white space around it.

Kvalita bieleho priestoru. SPUSTOVA.

Zuzana chcela Didot. Dovolila som to. A potom zmenšila logo na tri milimetre na výšku.

Vysoké kontrasty tenkých a hrubých línií Didotu sa vo výtlačku rozpadli do faxovej fotokópie. Písmo, ktoré Firmin Didot v roku 1784 stvoril ako výraz osvieteneckého rozumu. Matematicky presné, zbavené rokokového ornamentu, prvé moderné písmo v dejinách typografie sa v tejto miniaturizácii stalo východoeurópskym kultúrnym kódom. Voľba Didotu nebola estetická. Bola charakterová.

Toto radikálne odmietnutie pravidiel ma extrémne vyrušilo.

V našich zemepisných šírkach žijeme vo vizuálnom nedostatku. Chýba nám aj historická prítomnosť neoklasicizmu. Ale za to sme vyrástli vo faxových roliach, zlých fotokópiách, prvých digitálnych fotoaparátoch s nízkym rozlíšením. Táto estetika v nás vyvoláva typ satisfakcie, ktorý musí západ celkom iritovať. Hito Steyerl vo svojej eseji o nízkych rozlíšeniach píše, že nedokonalá kópia paradoxne zvyšuje intímnosť objektu. Zuzanina vizuálna estetika a jej produkt rozhodne majú tento inštinkt.

Jej vizuálny jazyk nie je minimalizmus. Je to yohaku no bi 余白の美 — japonský pojem pre krásu toho, čo zostalo nepovedané. Prázdnota ako potenciál. Z najbežnejších každodenných momentov nerobí vizuálne rozrušenie tým, čo pridá, ale tým, čo vynechá.

Začínala centrovaním. Až jedného dňa začala dekomponovať. Pripomína to cestu najväčších contemporary majstrov. Keď dokonale ovládnu remeslo, chcú sa vrátiť pred ten moment. Nájsť v rukopise nevycvičenosť. Zuzana to zvládla v zrýchlenom konaní. Jej primárny vizuálny jazyk je fotka. Fotka, v ktorej si musíme domyslieť všetko.

Mala odvahu rebrandovať svoju značku a potlačiť jej identitu na minimum. Viditeľnosť challenguje cez filter, cez ktorý sa pozerá na svet. Lupou. A má všetku našu pozornosť.

Zuzana je prvá a aj posledná, ktorá mi hovorila, že to logo treba zmenšiť. Pri každom jednom výstupe. A dnes dostáva priestor v layoute, ktorý si dokáže dokonale privlastniť bez toho, aby zmenila fonty. Ovládne jeho biely priestor.

Tu značka nie je v mene. Je v kvalite bielej plochy okolo mena.

Tento text je o pozorovaní vzťahu medzi dvoma značkami, ktoré som autorsky definovala, a ktoré dnes spoločne definujú niečo tretie. Je tiež súčasťou série Theses on Identity by Mikina Dimunova.

I spent every summer of my childhood in Humenné, in my grandmother’s kitchen and on her street. I remember two distinct states: Church and Apron. When she dressed for church, I felt like she was leaving me forever. She was a stranger, a well-dressed woman with an elegant handbag. But when she returned and changed into her house apron, a total sense of security flooded over me. She was mine again. The apron was her armor, in which she tended her roses and waited for the trash collectors. To me, the metal container was as much an aesthetic object as the flowers.

In that kitchen, I drank cocoa from a cup I still own today. It has a bold pattern that clashes with everything in my current display case. It is a detail I have carried within me my entire life, and I am glad it disrupts the shelf.

My street photography series Beauty & The Beast grew out of this very emotion. The central, recurring motif is a rose by a dumpster. I recognized something from those summers in Humenné. The same code. The same contrast that stirs something deeper than aesthetic interest.

Today, Miu Miu (Prada Group) sells a work apron with a 2,500 price tag, and I’m screaming:

Take all my money!

No, they aren’t mocking us. They are tapping into our collective DNA. They are selling us an intimate memory of safety that we never forgot, but never imagined could be for sale. This is precisely what turns a commodity into a cultural object: when you recognize yourself in it.

Beauty needs its beast to become tangible.

A rose in a sterile studio is a beautiful bore. A rose next to a dumpster is a stance.

This is a sacred return. What you are buying is a relationship to a situation you have already lived. People seek out childhood objects in second-hand shops, preserve artifacts with a story, inherit fragments of their past through objects. New things do not create this bond. They have no biography yet. Miu Miu sells an apron with a preloaded cultural biography. It arrives carrying a collective memory you don’t have to build yourself. That is why it works.

Luxury is the cocoa in that cup you keep as your only intimate memento. It holds the code of who you truly are, and you want this one object to disrupt the aesthetics of your shelf.

A brand that understands this doesn’t need a superlative register. Because one right beast is enough.

Kráska a Zviera.

Zvieraťom je vždy to, čo dôverne poznáme.

Všetky letá môjho detstva som strávila v Humennom, v kuchyni mojej babky a tiež na jej ulici. Pamätám si na dva stavy: Kostol a Zástera. Keď sa obliekla do kostola, mala som pocit, že ma navždy opúšťa. Bola to cudzia, dobre oblečená žena s elegantnou kabelkou. Ale keď sa vrátila a prezliekla sa do šatovej zástery, zaplavil ma absolútny pocit bezpečia. Bola zas pre mňa. Zástera bola jej brnením, v ktorom pestovala ruže a čakala na smetiarov. Kontajner bol pre mňa rovnakým estetickým objektom ako tie kvety.

V tej kuchyni som pila kakao z jednej šálky, ktorú mám dodnes, s výrazným patternom, ktorý sa nehodí do mojej aktuálnej vitríny. Je to detail, ktorý nosím v sebe celý život a som rada, že vitrínu narúša.

Moja pouličná foto séria Beauty & The Beast vznikla pokračujúc z tejto emócie. Ústredným opakujúcim sa motívom je ruža pri kontajneri. Spoznala som v tom niečo z leta v Humennom. Ten istý kód. Ten istý kontrast, ktorý vo mne vyvoláva niečo oveľa silnejšie než estetický záujem.

Dnes značka Miu Miu (Prada Group) predáva pracovnú zásteru s cenovkou 2 500,- a ja kričím:

Take all my money!

Nie, nerobia si z nás srandu. Zatínajú do nášho genofondu. Predávajú nám intímnu spomienku na bezpečie, ktorú sme nikdy nezabudli, len sme si nemysleli, že niekedy bude na predaj. To je presne to, čo robí z tovaru kultúrny objekt: keď sa v ňom spoznáte.

Krása potrebuje svoju šelmu, aby sa stala hmatateľnou.

Ruža v sterilnom ateliéri je krásna nuda. Ruža vedľa kontajnera je postoj.

Toto je sakrálny návrat. Kupujete vzťah k situácii, ktorú ste už zažili. Ľudia skupujú v bazároch veci z detstva, uchovávajú artefakty s príbehom, dedia cez objekty niečo zo svojej minulosti. Nové veci tento vzťah nevytvárajú. Ešte nemajú biografiu. Miu Miu predáva zásteru s preloaded kultúrnou biografiou. Prichádza s kolektívnou pamäťou, ktorú nemusíte budovať. Práve preto funguje.

Luxus je to kakao v šálke, ktorú si vezmete ako jedinú intímnu spomienku, pretože v nej je uložený kód toho, kým v skutočnosti ste, a chcete, aby vám táto jedna vec narušila estetiku vašej poličky.

Značka, ktorá toto pochopí, nepotrebuje superlatívny register. Lebo si vystačí s jednou správnou šelmou.

Last week I received an email from a bot. It wanted a precise account of the thought process behind the cover design for Peter Bárdy’s new book about Iveta Radičová. Every decision. Every rejection.

A colleague in South Africa had warned me the week before, in his dystopian Facebook status. The bot arrived before I finished writing the previous thesis.

Machines know how. Now they want to know why not.

When you tell a bot why you rejected the first ten sketches, you are teaching it to have contempt for your bad decisions. That is worth more than letting it study your good ones. It learns good decisions from everyone. Your no is the one raw material it cannot produce on its own.

I own fifty terabytes of unpublished work from twenty years of practice. I do not consider it waste. It is an architecture of refusal. The value of the final design does not lie in the hours spent on it. It lies in the number of versions I discarded because they offended my standard. AI generates a hundred variations and treats all of them as equally valid. Contempt is the one thing AI cannot train without your data and your judgment of it.

For the Radičová cover, my central no was the visual cliché of the statesperson. In an industry obsessed with the candidate’s face, I refused to let the portrait dominate. I pushed it under a typographic raster and forced the surnames forward. Bárdy. Radičová. The contemporary register arrived in the moment I decided the most obvious element would not have the final word.

Even a trained immune system fails sometimes. I have let good enough pixels through under extreme time pressure, when the speed of delivery compressed the space for refusal. What emerges then is not work. It is a compromise. Years of practice taught me to say no before I say yes.

In his book Distinction, Pierre Bourdieu called taste a form of cultural capital. Not an aesthetic preference, but a system of what you have absorbed through life. Through education, environment, exposure. Habitus. It is not given. It is accumulated. Which is precisely why it is so difficult to prompt with any accuracy.

In Paris I interviewed at fashion and beauty houses. They did not check skills. They looked at what I read. Where I went. What I held in contempt. Taste was the entry condition for a junior position. Skill was assumed.

There is no room for compassion in taste.

Recently I came across an AI-generated spec campaign for Guerlain by a genuinely enthusiastic creative. He did not hesitate to share it. Not a single pixel would have passed the real creative director of Guerlain. This time I did not want to ruin his joy. Misplaced compassion.

Taste functions as a brand’s immune system.

I call this new creative direction AI DECO. It is smog and a remix of illogical analogies. The greatest act of craft in this era will not be making an image. The ultimate act is the veto. The responsibility not to publish.

The politics of taste is not a question of aesthetics. It is a question of power.
And power belongs to those who know how to say no and know why.

Vkus nie je to, čo sa vám páči. Je to schopnosť odmietnuť.

Minulý týždeň mi prišiel email od bota. Žiadal presný popis myšlienkových pochodov, ktoré predchádzali dizajnu obálky novej knihy Petra Bárdyho o Ivete Radičovej. Chcel poznať každé rozhodnutie. Každé zamietnutie.

Kolega z južnej Afriky ma varoval týždeň predtým vo svojom distopickom statuse na Facebooku. Bot prišiel skôr, ako som dopísala predchádzajúcu tézu.

Stroje vedia ako. Teraz chcú vedieť prečo nie.

Keď botu povieš prečo si zavrhla prvých desať skíc, učíš ho opovrhovať svojimi zlými rozhodnutiami. To je cennejšie ako keď skúma tie správne. Správne rozhodnutia sa učí od všetkých. Tvoje nie je jediná surovina, ktorú si nevie vyrobiť.

Mám za dvadsať rokov praxe päťdesiat terabajtov nepublikovaných dát. Nepovažujem ich za odpad. Je to architektúra odmietnutia. Hodnota výsledku nie je v počte hodín strávených nad prácou, ale v počte verzií, ktoré som zavrhla, pretože urážali môj štandard. AI vygeneruje sto variácií a všetky považuje za rovnocenné splnenie zadania. Opovrhnutie je jediná vec, ktorú AI nevie trénovať bez tvojich dát a vyhodnotenia.

Pri obálke Radičovej bolo mojím hlavným nie vizuálne klišé štátnikov. V odvetví posadnutom tvárou kandidáta som odmietla nechať portrét dominovať. Potlačila som ho pod raster typografie a prinútila priezviská — Bárdy, Radičová — ovládnuť popredie. Súčasný vibe vznikol v momente, keď som sa rozhodla, že ten najviac očividný prvok nebude mať hlavné slovo.

Aj skúsený imunitný systém občas zlyhá. Pustila som dosť dobré pixely vo chvíľach extrémneho časového tlaku, keď rýchlosť dodania zmenšila priestor na odmietnutie. Vtedy nevzniká dielo, ale kompromis. Roky praxe ma naučili povedať nie skôr, než poviem áno.

Pierre Bourdieu vo svojej knihe Distinction nazval vkus formou kultúrneho kapitálu. Nie estetickou preferenciou, ale systémom toho, čo ste absorbovali životom. Vzdelaním, prostredím, expozíciou. Habitom. Nie je daný. Je akumulovaný. A práve preto je celkom náročné ho presne promptovať.

V Paríži som chodila na pohovory do módnych a beauty domov. Nekontrolovali skill. Kontrolovali to, čo som čítala. Kam som chodila. Čím som opovrhovala. Vkus bol vstupenkou k práci juniora. Skill bol samozrejmosť.

Vo vkuse niet miesta pre súcit.

Nedávno som videla spec kampaň pre Guerlain, ktorú s pomocou AI vytvoril úprimne nadšený kreatívec. A neváhal sa o to podeliť. Cez skutočného creative directora Guerlain by z toho neprejšiel ani pixel, ale tentokrát som mu nechcela kaziť radosť. Zbytočný súcit.

Vkus funguje ako imunitný systém značky.

Tento nový umelecký smer volám AI DECO. Je to smog a remix nelogických analógií. Najväčším umením v tejto ére nebude obraz vytvoriť. Vrcholom remesla je veto. Zodpovednosť nepublikovať.

Politika vkusu nie je otázka estetiky. Je to otázka moci. A moc patrí tomu, kto vie povedať nie a vie prečo.

LinkedIn is filling up with videos carrying the same verdict: Designers are cooked. The point being that Claude generates brand identities in seconds. Animated, coherent, aesthetic.

And what?

The creative space has split into two camps. The first writes manifestos about why AI will never replace them, listing hours of research and the depth of their process. The second says nothing, uses the tools, and wallpapers the internet with the results. Both camps are answering a question that didn’t need to be asked.

The question is not: can AI design a logo?

The question is: what does a client actually buy when they choose a designer?

When I launch a new identity, it doesn’t go into the world alone. It carries years of contacts that give it immediate attention. It carries a network of people who believe in it before they’ve seen it, because they know the history of the identities that came before it, the ones this new one now lives alongside. That is called capital.

A client who chooses a designer with authority is not buying execution. They are buying what their brand will inherit. A designer’s signature is a value that exceeds the visual itself.

This capital doesn’t start building after ten years of practice. Pricing power begins the moment a client arrives on a recommendation, not through a tender. That is the first time you stop competing on price and start competing on name. And it can happen much sooner than most designers think. Not after twenty years. After the first project someone shares.

The day a CEO buys an identity from AI, they receive the same file their competitor will generate tomorrow. The output is a commodity. A designer’s signature is a financial asset, not an aesthetic decision. That is true from day one, the moment a designer understands what they are actually selling.

The proof is not theoretical.

Studio Najbrt released a poster for KVIFF 2026 (Karlovy Vary International Film Festival). A red square. Reposts across lifestyle and mainstream media, an Instagram that exploded. AI did not generate that reaction. Decades of client relationship and an entire body of work behind it did.

Twenty years ago in Paris, I met Blaize, a renowned perfumer. He told me he was going to have his website built by Pierre, an elite graphic designer. The price? 60,000 euros. I immediately offered to do it for a tenth of that.

Blaize answered with a sentence that permanently changed who I wanted to be in my profession:

But you are not Pierre.

In that moment I understood everything. Pierre was not selling pretty pictures. He was selling influence. His orbit. His validation.

Pierre is not a benchmark. He is a direction.

What are we actually selling?

We are selling recognition capital. Experience, combinatorics and the sediment of years that accumulates not in software, but in life. We are selling our own relationship to the brand we are building.

AI is a tool. We have adapted to new tools our entire careers and we are doing it again now.

In the era where Claude generates our identities, be Pierre.

Because the logo was never the point.

You are the point.

Kapitál uznania.

Výber dizajnéra v ére komoditizácie.

LinkedIn sa plní videami, ktoré nesú rovnaký verdikt: S dizajnérmi je amen. Argument: Claude generuje brand identity za sekundy. Animované, koherentné, estetické.

A čo ?

Kreatívny priestor sa rozdelil na dva tábory. Prvý píše manifesty o tom, prečo ich AI nikdy nenahradí, a vymenúva hodiny výskumu a hĺbku procesu. Druhý mlčí, používa nástroje a tapetuje internet výsledkami. Oba tábory odpovedajú na otázku, ktorú by sme si nemuseli klásť.

Otázka nie je: dokáže AI navrhnúť logo?

Otázka je: čo si klient skutočne kupuje, keď si vyberá dizajnéra?

Keď vypúšťam novú identitu do sveta, nejde tam sama. Nesie roky kontaktov, ktoré jej dajú okamžitú pozornosť. Nesie sieť ľudí, ktorí v ňu veria skôr, než ju videli, pretože poznajú históriu identít, ktoré prišli pred ňou — tých, vedľa ktorých táto nová teraz žije. To sa volá kapitál.

Klient, ktorý si vyberá dizajnéra s autoritou, nekupuje realizáciu. Kupuje to, čo jeho značka zdedí. Podpis dizajnéra je hodnota, ktorá presahuje vizuál samotný.

Tento kapitál sa nezačína budovať po desiatich rokoch praxe. Cenová sila začína v momente, keď klient príde na odporúčanie, nie cez tender. To je prvýkrát, keď prestanete súťažiť cenou a začnete súťažiť menom. A môže sa to stať oveľa skôr, ako si väčšina dizajnérov myslí. Nie po dvadsiatich rokoch. Po prvom projekte, ktorý niekto zdieľa.

V deň, keď si CEO kúpi identitu od AI, dostane rovnaký súbor, aký jeho konkurent vygeneruje zajtra. Výstup je komodita. Podpis dizajnéra je finančné aktívum, nie estetické rozhodnutie. To platí od prvého dňa — v momente, keď dizajnér pochopí, čo skutočne predáva.

Dôkaz nie je teoretický.

Štúdio Najbrt vydalo plagát pre KVIFF 2026 (Karlovy Vary International Film Festival). Červený štvorec. Reposts naprieč lifestyle a mainstreamovými médiami, Instagram, ktorý vybuchol. Túto reakciu nevygenerovala AI. Vygenerovali ju desaťročia klientských vzťahov a celé dielo za ním.

Pred dvadsiatimi rokmi som v Paríži stretla Blaiza, renomovaného parfuméra. Povedal mi, že si necháva urobiť web od Pierra, elitného grafického dizajnéra. Cena? 60 000 eur. Okamžite som ponúkla, že to urobím za desatinu.

Blaize odpovedal vetou, ktorá natrvalo zmenila, kým som chcela byť vo svojej profesii:

Ale ty nie si Pierre.

V tom momente som pochopila všetko. Pierre nepredával pekné obrázky. Predával vplyv. Svoj orbit. Svoju validáciu.

Pierre nie je benchmark. Je to smer.

Čo vlastne predávame?

Predávame kapitál uznania. Skúsenosť, kombinatoriku a sediment rokov, ktorý sa nehromadí v softvéri, ale v živote. Predávame vlastný vzťah k značke, ktorú budujeme.

AI je nástroj. Celú kariéru sa prispôsobujeme novým nástrojom a robíme to znova.

V ére, keď Claude generuje naše identity, buďte Pierre.

Pretože logo nikdy nebolo podstatou.

Podstatou ste vy.

Tento text je pozvánkou do debaty, ktorú si kreatívny priemysel vedie sám so sebou. A do tej, ktorú by mal viesť namiesto toho.

Years ago in Amsterdam, I walked into a restaurant with no visual identity. The curtains were drawn, the entrance unmarked. The space declared nothing but promised everything. That anonymity gave me the freedom to focus on what was actually there: taste, light, service.

When I returned years later, the name was the same, but a new visual language had arrived. Large, confident, aspirational. It had nothing to do with the truth I remembered.

Memory holds a higher standard than taste.

An identity that doesn’t correspond to truth forgets those who knew it deeply. A redesign honest about a brand’s evolution is not a betrayal. It is proof that something real was worth continuing.

Clients arrive with anxiety about emptiness. A logo is their proof of existence. But behind those drawn curtains, there was no emptiness. There was a place that didn’t yet know what it was. Those who enter before a space is named feel like discoverers, not customers. If we skip that time, we lose the first witnesses. Continuity is not weakness. It is memory in action.

I can cause damage too. If I read the surface instead of the substance, I propose something technically correct but foreign to the actual experience. Diagnosis is the ability to name what a project feels like before it knows how to describe itself.

Launch is only the beginning. My responsibility is to choose a visual language with enough reserve to remain honest as edges wear down and context shifts. Identity must carry the future without becoming a stranger to its own substance.

I stood at the door because the visual language told me that what I had fallen in love with was no longer there. The strongest identity is the one with the courage to stay silent until it has something to say.

This text is an invitation into the dialogue I have with a client before every brief. We confront who they are and who they want to become. Together, we excavate the hidden core.

Attached: tvaroh — Slovak fresh curd cheese — in a plain plastic bag with a black and white label. This product needs no branding. Its value is present at the core. I will admit: it is the product I am most jealous of. I wish I had designed it myself. There can only be one tvaroh like this on the market. It is proof that sometimes the highest form of design is the courage not to intervene.

Odvaha byť neviditeľný. Anatómia zámeru.

Kedysi som chcela upratať každú značku. Minimálna, rešpektujúca, presná. Verila som, že estetika je najvyššia forma rešpektu. To, čo viem teraz, sa ťažšie priznáva: dizajn, ktorý slúži len vlastnému vzhľadu, môže vymazať práve to, čo mal reprezentovať.

Pred rokmi som v Amsterdame vstúpila do reštaurácie bez vizuálnej identity. Záclony stiahnuté, vchod bez označenia. Priestor nič nedeklaroval, ale všetko sľuboval. Tá anonymita mi dala slobodu sústrediť sa na to, čo tam skutočne bolo: chuť, svetlo, obsluha.

Keď som sa vrátila o roky neskôr, názov bol rovnaký, ale prišiel nový vizuálny jazyk. Veľký, sebavedomý, ašpiratívny. Nemal nič spoločné s pravdou, ktorú som si pamätala.

Pamäť má vyšší štandard ako vkus.

Identita, ktorá nezodpovedá pravde, zabudne na tých, ktorí ju poznali do hĺbky. Redesign, ktorý je úprimný voči vývoju značky, nie je zrada. Je dôkazom, že niečo skutočné stálo za pokračovanie.

Tí, ktorí vstúpia skôr, než dostane priestor meno, sa cítia ako objavovatelia, nie zákazníci. Ak tú dobu preskočíme, stratíme prvých svedkov. Kontinuita nie je slabosť. Je to pamäť v akcii.

Aj ja môžem spôsobiť škodu. Ak čítam povrch namiesto podstaty, navrhujem niečo technicky správne, ale cudzie skutočnému zážitku. Diagnóza je schopnosť pomenovať, čím projekt je, skôr než sám vie, ako sa opísať.

Spustenie je len začiatok. Mojou zodpovednosťou je zvoliť vizuálny jazyk s dostatočnou rezervou, aby zostal úprimný, keď sa hrany obrusujú a kontext posúva. Identita musí niesť budúcnosť bez toho, aby sa odcudzila vlastnej podstate.

Stála som pri dverách, pretože vizuálny jazyk mi povedal, že to, do čoho som sa zaľúbila, tam už nie je. Najsilnejšia identita je tá, ktorá má odvahu mlčať, kým nemá čo povedať.

Príloha: tvaroh v jednoduchom plastickom vrecúšku s čiernobielou nálepkou. Tento produkt nepotrebuje branding. Jeho hodnota je prítomná v jadre. Priznám sa: je to produkt, ktorému závidím najviac. Chcela by som ho navrhnúť sama. Na trhu môže byť len jeden takýto tvaroh. Je to dôkaz, že niekedy najvyššia forma dizajnu je odvaha nezasahovať.

My return to Berlin after years away began before I cleared the airport. The Fontstand International Typography Conference had not even started, and I was already reading the city through its letterforms. Martin Wenzel of Supertype confirmed what I felt in transit. He placed a set of sans-serifs in front of the room and asked which one was German. The answer was instantaneous, pointing to a certain idiosyncratic engineering, a formal logic that is unmistakably German. Typography is the DNA of place. It encodes origin: the one you were born into and the one you chose. Swiss methodology and French aesthetic intelligence trained my eye. German typographic pragmatism reads, to me, like a familiar accent in a different language.

Ferdinand Ulrich brought the deepest archival research of the conference. His work on the dematerialization of type, tracing the path from ELF through METAFONT to Ikarus, is a reminder that the digital letterform is not a default. It is the residue of precise academic and industrial synthesis accumulated over decades. That rational depth is what gives emotion in design somewhere solid to stand.

Marko Hrastovec went somewhere more personal. His typeface Exat drew from the visual ideology of the former Yugoslavia, a context he argued was, functionally, the Swiss school of the Balkans. The International Style arrived there through a different political door and produced a distinct modernist dialect. Watching that inheritance become the basis of a contemporary revival was one of the more precise arguments of the conference: identity is not invented, it is excavated.

Shoko Mugikura moved between cultural theory and typographic analysis without losing either. She traced the path from strict geometry to the fluid curves of Kana and showed how the technique of Zōhō, the art of hiding the brush tip to achieve a full, rounded stroke, continues to define the emotional register of Japanese type. When she admitted that the Japanese preference for softness in everything is more a pervasive cultural code than exact science, my visual association went straight to fluffy cheesecake.

The conference opened with Francesco Franchi, who has spent years defending the print identity of La Republica against the structural logic of algorithmic publishing. His argument is not nostalgic. Francesco is not a sentimentalist mourning the smell of paper. As a master of data visualization and infographics, he understands technology. His position is systemic: he defends the print layout as a form that offers an intellectual experience and narrative coherence that infinite scrolling cannot yet replace. Narrative requires a container with rules. Ariane Spanier arrives from the opposite angle at the same conclusion. Where Franchi holds context in strict, visible structure, Spanier builds it through a fluid formula of resonance and instinct. That tension between the two positions, the rigid container versus the atmospheric resonance, ran as a quiet current through the whole program.

Marta Cerdà Alimbau and Evie Brook, daughter of Tony Brook, representing SPIN, both operate at the boundary where type crosses into image. David Pearson makes that crossing explicit. His Penguin covers have long been the standard example of what type can do when it is treated as illustration rather than caption. Heike Nehl and Sibylle Schlaich of Moniteurs brought it to a precise conclusion with their navigation systems: typographic decisions at the scale of cities, where precision is not aesthetic preference but civic responsibility.

Behind this structural elegance lies the critical layer of licensing. Christopher Slye, alongside Peter Biľak, has been instrumental in refining Fontstand’s model, balancing basic and advanced licensing to ensure that professional type remains accessible without becoming predatory. This is where the conversation with the client becomes most direct. Paying for type is not an administrative hurdle. It is a direct investment in the professional value design contributes to society. It is the price of integrity.

Those of us who apply type in the field work at a different depth than those who create it. The client context compresses the frame, the brief compresses it further. But the responsibility for translation is real. We can take the work of the typographic community and find it an unexpected context, a meaning it could not have anticipated. We can also bury it in an application that is not worthy of it. There is no neutral outcome.

The Fontstand ecosystem creates a rare space for translation with integrity. Coming back from Berlin, I am not interested in resolving the conflict between the depth of detail and its commercial application. My goal is to cultivate that tension. Precision is not an aesthetic whim or a professional diagnosis. It is the prerequisite for any identity that has the ambition to last.

Granularita pôvodu: Berlínske poznámky

Je zvláštna úľava v tom, keď nájdete svoj niche. Nie v zmysle trhového segmentu. Ten druh, kde granularita vášho myslenia prestane pôsobiť ako prebytok a stane sa jednoducho štandardom.

Môj návrat do Berlína po rokoch sa začal skôr, než som prešla pasovou kontrolou. Fontstand International Typography Conference sa ešte ani nezačala a ja som už čítala mesto cez jeho písmo. Martin Wenzel zo Supertype potvrdil to, čo som cítila cestou. Pred sálu položil sériu bezpätkových fontov a spýtal sa, ktorý je nemecký. Odpoveď bola okamžitá — istá svojrázna inžinierska logika, formálny jazyk, ktorý je nezameniteľne nemecký. Typografia je DNA miesta. Kóduje pôvod: ten, do ktorého ste sa narodili, aj ten, ktorý ste si zvolili. Švajčiarska metodológia a francúzska estetická inteligencia vycvičili môj zrak. Nemecký typografický pragmatizmus čítam ako dôverne známy prízvuk v inom jazyku.

Ferdinand Ulrich priniesol najhlbší archívny výskum konferencie. Jeho práca o dematerializácii písma, sledujúca cestu od ELF cez METAFONT po Ikarus, pripomína, že digitálne písmeno nie je samozrejmosť. Je to sediment presnej akademickej a priemyselnej syntézy, hromadenej desaťročiami. Práve táto racionálna hĺbka dáva emócii v dizajne pevné miesto, na ktorom môže stáť.

Toto napätie medzi dvoma polohami — rigidný kontajner verzus atmosferická rezonancia — prúdilo celým programom ako tichý prúd.

Za touto štrukturálnou eleganciou leží kritická vrstva licencovania. Christopher Slye spolu s Petrom Biľakom zásadne prispeli k zdokonaľovaniu modelu Fontstand, balansujúc základné a pokročilé licencovanie tak, aby profesionálne písmo zostalo dostupné bez toho, aby sa stalo dravým. Tu sa rozhovor s klientom stáva najpriamejším. Platiť za písmo nie je administratívna prekážka. Je to priama investícia do profesionálnej hodnoty, ktorou dizajn prispieva spoločnosti. Je to cena integrity.

Tí z nás, ktorí písmo aplikujú v praxi, pracujú v inej hĺbke ako tí, ktorí ho tvoria. Klientský kontext rámec stláča, brief ho stláča ešte viac. Zodpovednosť za preklad je však reálna. Môžeme vziať prácu typografickej komunity a nájsť jej nečakaný kontext, zmysel, ktorý nemohla predvídať. Môžeme ju však aj pochovať v aplikácii, ktorá jej nie je hodná. Neexistuje neutrálny výsledok.

Ekosystém Fontstand vytvára vzácny priestor pre preklad s integritou. Keď sa vraciam z Berlína, nezaujíma ma riešiť konflikt medzi hĺbkou detailu a jeho komerčnou aplikáciou. Mojím cieľom je toto napätie pestovať. Presnosť nie je estetický rozmar ani profesionálna diagnóza. Je to predpoklad každej identity, ktorá má ambíciu pretrvať.

Thesis #05 je o tom, čo vaša typografia prezrádza o vašom pôvode.

In 2018, the Svornosť printing house in Bratislava stood in ruins. Between exposed panels and steel structures, the quiet, almost anachronistic discipline of a small development studio was visible. Where demolition was expected, a meticulous architectural restoration arrived instead. That observation became the foundation of an authorial naming and concept: Bratislava Werkstätte.

WERKS did not emerge from a brief. It emerged from the way the studio thought from the beginning.

Bratislava is a natural part of the Central European triangle with Vienna and Budapest. The concept returned to a time when this connection was not merely a geographical fact but a living cultural space. German was not a foreign element here. It was the lingua franca of craft and civic life. Werkstatt, the workshop, is a place where material is approached with respect for its original matrix.

The name gave the developer more than a visual face. It provided a strategic foundation on which you can build.

Lofty Kominárska: A Typographic System in Space

The site where Svornosť once stood was no temple of bibliophilia. The printing house produced utilitarian postwar literature, politically tinted and visually without ambition. As Dušan Junek noted: “Under socialism, brands and logos counted for little. A hammer, sickle and star were enough.” No visual trace remained. The absence was the material.

As a homage to the craft of print, the Alphabet of Living was conceived. Instead of anonymous unit numbers, each apartment received the character of an iconic typeface: Avenir, Baskerville, Caslon, Didot, Eckmann, Frutiger, Garamond, Helvetica. The resident does not choose only square footage. They choose an archetypal character. A space that reeks of typography.

Visually, the project identity was locked into a square frame. A direct citation of Quadratstil, the principle of strict geometry through which the Wiener Werkstätte erased the boundary between fine art and applied craft. This static framework was confronted with the font Styling (Mendoza Vergara / Los Andes), inspired by the aerodynamics of old cars and aircraft. Solid brick and kinetic energy.

A designer’s role is not to create the soul of a place. It is to read it and give it a name.

The identity of WERKS is not a look back. It is a reading of what the place always was, though it never said it aloud.

Identity as a Primary Building Element

In 2026, the identity of WERKS holds. The transformation from a site of cheap print to a space of European aesthetic ambition is complete. When design originates from truthful observation of the makers’ mentality, it does not need cyclical rebranding.

It grows with the city.

Sémantické reštaurátorstvo

Identita developera vrastená do industriálnej mriežky.

V roku 2018 stála bratislavská tlačiareň Svornosť v ruinách. Medzi obnaženými panelmi a oceľovými konštrukciami som sledovala tichú, takmer anachronickú disciplínu malého developerského ateliéru. Namiesto vtedajšej stratégie búrania prišla architektonicky náročná sanácia. Z tohto pozorovania vznikol autorský naming a koncept: Bratislava Werkstätte.

WERKS nevznikol ako naming z briefu. Vznikol z reálneho spôsobu, akým ateliér od začiatku uvažoval.

Bratislava je prirodzenou súčasťou stredoeurópskeho trojuholníka s Viedňou a Budapešťou. Koncept sa vrátil k dobe, kedy toto spojenie bolo živým kultúrnym priestorom, nielen geografickým faktom. Nemčina tu bola lingua franca remesla a meštianstva. Werkstatt — dielňa — je miesto, kde sa k materiálu pristupuje s úctou k jeho pôvodnej matrici.

Týmto názvom developer nezískal len vizuálnu tvár. Získal strategický fundament, na ktorom sa dnes dá stavať. Doslova.

Miesto, kde stála Svornosť, nebolo chrámom bibliofílie. Tlačiareň produkovala utilitárnu literatúru a socialistickú beletriu. Ako mi napísal Dušan Junek: „Za socializmu značky a logá veľa neznamenali, stačili kosák, kladivo a hviezda.” Po Svornosti nezostala žiadna vizuálna stopa. (resp. stále ju hľadám)

Práve táto prázdnota sa stala materiálom, ktorý som potrebovala.

Ako pocta samotnému remeslu tlače vznikla Abeceda bývania. Namiesto anonymných čísel bytov dostali priestory charakter ikonických rezov písma: Avenir, Baskerville, Caslon, Didot, Eckmann, Frutiger, Garamond, Helvetica. Obyvateľ si nevyberá len metráž. Vyberá si archetypálny charakter priestoru, ktorý smrdí typografiou.

Vizuálne sa projektová identita uzamkla do štvorcového framingu. Priama citácia Quadratstilu — princípu prísnej geometrie, ktorým hnutie Wiener Werkstätte vymazalo hranicu medzi výtvarným a úžitkovým umením. Tento statický rámec som konfrontovala s fontom Styling (Mendoza Vergara / Los Andes), inšpirovaným aerodynamikou starých áut a lietadiel. Pevná tehla a kinetická energia.

Dizajnér nemá dušu miesta vytvárať. Má ju dokázať prečítať a dať jej meno.

Identita WERKS nie je pohľad späť. Je to čítanie toho, čím miesto vždy bolo — hoci to nikdy nepovedalo nahlas.

Identita ako nosná konštrukcia

V roku 2026 identita WERKS obstojí. Premena miesta lacnej tlače na priestor európskej estetickej ambície je úplná. Keď dizajn vychádza z pravdivého pozorovania mentality tvorcov, nepotrebuje cyklický rebranding.

Rastie s mestom.

Tento text je pozvánkou do pozorovania, ktoré predchádza projektu — do otázok pred briefom, ktoré rozhodujú o smere. Smer je vždy výsledkom toho, čo sa rozhodnete vidieť. A čo sa rozhodnete ignorovať.

Visual identity is a relationship, not a service. This is where aesthetics end and the anatomy of influence begins.

I watch authorities who, in the pursuit of reach, voluntarily enter spaces where their integrity dissolves into someone else’s narrative. The context of your neighborhood tells more about you than any brand manual ever will.

Marble is porous. Identity is not a monument. It is a living material. Spill poison on marble and it doesn’t run off the surface. It becomes part of the stone. While manuals focus on how a brand looks, what determines its survival is what it absorbs from within.

Jeffrey Epstein had no product. He sold context. He sat at the table with the elite and his identity absorbed their weight. Everyone in his orbit absorbed his power, until they absorbed his ruin. Epstein was the most precise example of systemic failure in the design of relationships. Choosing your neighborhood based solely on numbers is gambling with your immunity. Context won’t break your marble. It will poison it from within.

In my practice, I distinguish types of bonds and ask clients: who is your Friend Brand?

Naming that neighborhood reveals the truth about the essence of a brand, which I internally divide into two degrees.

BFF is value endogamy — a relationship sharing DNA and ethics of decision-making. A long-term marriage, without which isolation follows.

BF is, in my understanding, transactional erosion. A short-term partnership for numbers. Or just sex. Legitimate, until you mistake it for part of your identity. If your entire orbit is a series of relationships with no shared morning, you don’t have a brand. You have a turnover.

No identity is born in a laboratory. I too sit sometimes at tables arranged by continuity, not choice. Sometimes we stay, because the work has its own weight. But knowing the precise price you pay for that neighborhood matters.

The question is not whether your visual system is flawless. A perfect facade is often just an attempt to sterilize a reality that isn’t functioning beneath it. Identity is not what we project. It is what remains of us in that room after we leave.

Neighborhood is destiny.

Ty strážiš fasádu. Ja strážim stôl.

Susedstvo je váš osud. Kontext je identitný systém, ktorý nikto neaudituje. Kým nie je neskoro.

Vizuálna identita je vzťah, nie služba. Tu sa estetika končí a začína anatómia vplyvu.

Sledujem autority, ako v honbe za dosahom dobrovoľne vstupujú do priestorov, kde sa ich integrita rozpúšťa v cudzom naratíve. Kontext susedstva o vás povie viac než akýkoľvek brand manuál.

Mramor je porézny. Identita nie je monument, ale živý materiál. Ak naň vylejete jed, nestečie po povrchu. Stane sa jeho súčasťou. Kým manuály sledujú, ako značka vyzerá, to, čo určuje jej prežitie, je to, čo absorbuje zvnútra.

Jeffrey Epstein nemal produkt. Predával kontext. Sedel pri stole s elitou a jeho identita nasala ich váhu. Každý v jeho orbite nasával jeho moc, až kým nenasal aj jeho trosky. Epstein bol najpresnejším príkladom systémového zlyhania v dizajne vzťahov. Výber susedstva len podľa čísel je hazard s imunitou. Kontext mramor nerozlomí. Otrávi ho zvnútra.

Vo svojej praxi rozlišujem typy väzieb a klientov sa pýtam: Kto je váš Friend Brand?

Pomenovanie toho susedstva odhaľuje pravdu o podstate značky, ktorú si vnútorne delím na dva stupne.

BFF je hodnotová endogamia — vzťah zdieľajúci DNA a etiku rozhodovania. Dlhodobé manželstvo, bez ktorého nasleduje izolácia.

BF je, v mojom chápaní, transakčná erózia. Krátkodobý flirt pre čísla. Alebo len sex. Legitímne, kým túto transakciu nezačnete považovať za súčasť svojej podstaty. Ak je váš celý orbit sériou vzťahov bez spoločného rána, nemáte brand. Máte obrat.

Žiadna identita nevzniká v laboratóriu. Aj ja sedím niekedy pri stoloch, ktoré mi zariadila kontinuita, nie voľba. Niekedy ostávame, lebo práca má svoju vlastnú váhu. Podstatné je poznať presnú cenu, ktorú za to susedstvo platíme.

Otázka nie je, či je váš vizuálny systém bezchybný. Dokonalá fasáda je väčšinou len pokus sterilizovať realitu, ktorá pod ňou nefunguje. Identita nie je to, čo projektujeme. Je to to, čo z nás v tej miestnosti ostane, keď odídeme.

My favorite genre of identity is Reborn. The metamorphosis of the core, one of the most demanding disciplines in branding. It requires the ability to excavate a dead myth and inject it with blood that pulses in the current algorithm.

The ultimate example of this genre today is not a brand. It’s a film that could easily be one.

I suspect the new Wuthering Heights by Emerald Fennell is not cinema. It is a product designed to sell everything and everyone.

The Architect of Desire

I suspected Emerald Fennell came from advertising. She didn’t. She came from something more effective. Daughter of a celebrated London jeweller. Oxford. British aristocracy. A director who, before Wuthering Heights, made Promising Young Woman and Saltburn, both films that didn’t just cause a stir, they changed buying behavior. She speaks Old Money as a first language, which is exactly why she knows how to weaponize it.

Fennell doesn’t sell stories. She designs shoppable ecosystems. And Wuthering Heights is her most ambitious product to date.

Heritage Signaling: A Century-Old Code

Heritage signaling, for me, is like a wedding ritual. Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. Brides replicate it with love, not quite knowing why. And that’s exactly why it works. Reborn needs precisely this.

Fennell borrowed the logotype from the 1920 adaptation, from an era when the story was described as a tremendous story of hate. A century-old visual code, wrapped in the bulletproof armor of the present. charli xcx on the soundtrack. Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi are the marble ideal of beauty made flesh. So visually flawless they read as symbols rather than people. Since you can’t buy their DNA, Fennell offers Patti Dubroff’s makeup as a tactical consolation prize.

Heritage provides depth. Pop culture provides toxicity. Together they create something that doesn’t need marketing. It is marketing.

But every edit leaves a trace. And Fennell’s most consequential edit was not visual.

The Erasure as a Strategy

Shilpa Saul named it precisely: Brontë wasn’t writing vibes. She was writing social violence, class exclusion, racial hierarchy. Fennell knows this. And she made a conscious choice to remove it.

From a branding perspective, this is a deliberate decision, not an error. Every successful brand does the same thing: it selects what to amplify and what to quietly retire. Systemic injustice doesn’t make the cut because it cannot be sold.

Reborn doesn’t work with the whole myth. It works with what survives the edit.

The Unconfessed Fantasy at the Core

Fennell reduced the narrative layer to a female fantasy that few will publicly admit to.

A safe harbor. Beautiful clothes. And around the corner, Heathcliff, the one who will destroy us. And we want him. When destruction has the right face and the right soundtrack, trauma is rebranded as a vibe.

And that’s what still sells.

Ako Emerald Fennell zmenila literárnu klasiku na jednu z najprecíznejšie navrhnutých identít sezóny.

Môj obľúbený žáner identity je Reborn. Metamorfóza jadra — jedna z najnáročnejších disciplín v brandingu. Vyžaduje schopnosť vykopať mŕtvy mýtus a vliať doň krv, ktorá pulzuje v súčasnom algoritme.

Najlepší príklad tohto žánru dnes nie je značka. Je to film, ktorý by ňou pokojne mohol byť.

Podozrievam, že nové Wuthering Heights Emerald Fennell nie je kino. Je to produkt navrhnutý na predaj všetkého a všetkých.

Architektka túžby

Upodozrievala som Emerald Fennell, že vyšla z reklamy. Nevyšla. Prišla z niečoho účinnejšieho. Dcéra slávneho londýnskeho šperkára. Oxford. Britská aristokracia. Režisérka, ktorá pred Wuthering Heights nakrútila Promising Young Woman a Saltburn — oba filmy, ktoré nezmenili len to, o čom sa hovorí, ale aj to, čo si ľudia kupujú. Old Money je jej rodný jazyk. A práve preto ho vie tak dokonale rozkladať.

Fennell nepredáva príbehy. Navrhuje shoppable ekosystémy. A Wuthering Heights je jej najambicióznejší produkt doteraz.

Heritage Signaling: Storočný kód

Heritage signaling je pre mňa ako svadobný rituál. Niečo staré, niečo nové, niečo požičané, niečo modré. Nevesty ho replikujú s láskou, ani nevedia prečo. A práve preto funguje. Reborn potrebuje presne toto.

Fennell si prepožičala logotyp z adaptácie z roku 1920 — z éry, keď bol príbeh opisovaný ako obrovský príbeh nenávisti. Storočný vizuálny kód, obalený do nepriestrelného brnenia súčasnosti. charli xcx na soundtracku. Margot Robbie a Jacob Elordi sú mramorový ideál krásy pretavený do fyzična. Shilpa Saul to pomenovala presne: Brontë nepísala vibes. Písala sociálne násilie, triedne vylúčenie, rasovú hierarchiu.

Fennell to vie. A vedome sa rozhodla to odstrániť.

Z pohľadu brandingu je to zámerné rozhodnutie, nie chyba. Každá úspešná značka robí to isté: vyberá, čo zosilniť, a čo ticho vyradiť. Systémová nespravodlivosť sa do výberu nedostane, pretože sa nedá predať.

Reborn nepracuje s celým mýtom. Pracuje s tým, čo prežije strih.

Nepriznaná fantázia v jadre

Fennell zredukovala príbehovú vrstvu na ženskú fantáziu, ku ktorej sa verejne prizná máloktorá z nás.

Bezpečný prístav. Krásne šaty. A za rohom Heathcliff, ktorý nás zničí. A my to chceme. Keď má deštrukcia správnu tvár a správny soundtrack, trauma sa rebranduje na vibe.

A to sa stále predáva.

Toto napätie — bezpečnosť a nebezpečenstvo, salón a divočina — sedí v jadre produktu, nie príbehu. Nedostanete film. Dostanete dokonale vyčistený mýtus, dosť krásny na túžbu a dosť prázdny na to, aby ste doň premietali seba.

“When will it finally be done?”

That’s the question I hear most often when building a brand identity. And my answer unsettles people: Maybe never. And that’s perfectly fine.

Asking when a brand identity will be finished is like asking when your character will stop growing. A brand is not a PDF. It’s a living organism — and living organisms don’t have final versions.

I understand why the manual is tempting. Hundreds of pages of definitions, protocols, rules. The sense of security is real. But exactly where the courage to adapt ends, quiet stagnation begins. An identity carved in marble is beautiful. And dead.

The real strength of an identity is not in its resistance to change. It’s in how organically it can mutate and absorb new impulses. Identity is a metabolism, not a monument.

It’s easier to hand over a 200-page PDF and walk away than to teach a brand to breathe in real time. But the PDF is not the work. It’s the beginning of it.

The less internal truth a brand has, the more it retreats into policing protocols. A rigid manual often masks nothing more than the absence of a living voice. True recognisability doesn’t live in the millimetre-precise placement of a logo. It lives in the energy a brand radiates.

My own identity is readable precisely in its inconsistency. In its willingness to admit movement. In the fact that today it is a different version of itself than it was yesterday.

Let’s not preserve brands so perfectly that there’s no room left for growth. A manual should be the starting line for creativity, not its final boundary.

The brand manual is not the problem. The belief that it’s the destination is.

Nebuďte konzistentní vo farbe. Buďte konzistentní v pravde.

„Kedy to bude konečne hotové?”

To je otázka, ktorú počúvam najčastejšie pri budovaní identity značky. A moja odpoveď ľudí znepokojuje: Možno nikdy. A to je v poriadku.

Pýtať sa, kedy bude identita značky hotová, je ako pýtať sa, kedy prestane rásť váš charakter. Značka nie je PDF. Je to živý organizmus — a živé organizmy nemajú finálne verzie.

Chápem, prečo je manuál lákavý. Stovky strán definícií, protokolov, pravidiel. Pocit istoty je skutočný. Ale presne tam, kde končí odvaha adaptovať sa, začína tichá stagnácia. Identita vytesaná do mramoru je krásna. A mŕtva.

Skutočná sila identity nespočíva v jej odolnosti voči zmene. Spočíva v tom, ako organicky dokáže mutovať a vstrebávať nové impulzy. Identita je metabolizmus, nie monument.

Je ľahšie odovzdať 200-stranové PDF a odísť, ako naučiť značku dýchať v reálnom čase. Ale PDF nie je práca. Je to jej začiatok.

Čím menej vnútornej pravdy značka má, tým viac sa utieka k stráženiu protokolov. Rigidný manuál väčšinou nemaskuje nič iné ako absenciu živého hlasu. Skutočná rozpoznateľnosť nesídli v milimetrovo presnom umiestnení loga. Sídli v energii, ktorú značka vyžaruje.

Moja vlastná identita je čitateľná práve vo svojej nekonzistentnosti. V ochote priznať pohyb. V tom, že dnes je inou verziou seba, ako bola včera.

Nezachovávajme značky tak dokonale, že v nich nezostane miesto na rast. Manuál má byť štartovacou čiarou kreativity, nie jej konečnou hranicou.

Dizajn manuál nie je problém. Presvedčenie, že je cieľom, je.
